Health
Comprehensive care delivered directly to our community.
The AltaMed Nursing School Collaborative recruits, mentors, trains, and places nursing candidates at AltaMed clinic sites through the following career pathways - made possible by a $20 million investment in the future of community health care.
Nurses are the backbone of the health care system - guiding treatment plans, advocating for patients, and supporting personalized care. Yet many individuals who feel called to the profession face economic, social, and educational barriers that prevent them from pursuing it.
To address this, we established the AltaMed Nursing School Collaborative in East Los Angeles, providing students with access to affordable, world-class nursing education and clinical training in a community health setting. Because health care professionals often settle where they train, this experience is designed to inspire and empower the next generation of nurses to serve the communities that need them most.
