AltaMed Foundation Launches Historic $110 Million H.E.L.P. Powered by YOU Campaign at 55th Anniversary Gala
AltaMed Foundation launched the H.E.L.P. Powered by YOU Campaign, a $110 million effort to expand access to health care, strengthen community support systems, and invest in solutions that help underserved communities across Los Angeles and Orange counties thrive.
At its 55th Anniversary Gala, AltaMed Foundation unveiled an ambitious initiative that will reshape the future of health care access for thousands across Los Angeles and Orange counties. The newly launched H.E.L.P. Powered by YOU campaign marks the most significant fundraising effort in the organization’s history — aiming to raise $110 million to uplift underserved communities through expanded medical care, social services, and community-based solutions.
The campaign seeks to transform access to care through strategic investments in workforce development, mobile health expansion, behavioral health, and preventative services. It also aims to strengthen the social support systems that influence health outcomes—such as housing stability, food security, art and cultural programs, and civic engagement.
“If AltaMed did not exist there would be large parts of the community that would be going to emergency rooms, of every hospital in Los Angeles, for basic care,” said Raul Anaya, AltaMed Foundation trustee and H.E.L.P. Campaign co-chair. “They play such a vital role in the entire ecosystem of Los Angeles that I could not even imagine L.A. without AltaMed.”

As the campaign moves forward, AltaMed invites the entire community—philanthropists, corporations, foundations, and individuals—to be part of this once-in-a-generation opportunity. With their help, AltaMed will continue to lead the charge for a healthier, fairer future for all.
What is H.E.L.P.?
Health: Prevention, early detection, and comprehensive care are the cornerstones of healthy communities. Through the H.E.L.P. campaign, we will make strategic investments in expanding access to essential medical services.
Equity: Achieving good health goes beyond the care our patients receive in our clinics. When patients are supported by doctors and nurses who understand them, and have access to healthy food, a roof over their heads, a living wage, and a place to turn to when in need, they and their communities can flourish.
Life: When a family can avoid eviction, pay an overdue gas bill, or buy much-needed groceries with the help of an AltaMed microgrant, they can continue to work, go to school, care for their loved ones, and maintain their health.
Programs: We champion innovative and successful programs that make a lasting impact on our patients inside and outside of our clinics. With the help of philanthropic partners, new and expanded initiatives – including our high school-to-college pathway programs, medical education, and the AltaMed Art Collection – will respond to the evolving needs of our patients.
