Founded in 1987, the AltaMed Foundation is a federally tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. It serves as the fundraising and volunteer leadership arm for AltaMed Health Services, one of the largest nonprofit federally qualified community health centers (FQHC) in the nation. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked to advance the AltaMed mission of increasing access to comprehensive health and human services in communities throughout Southern California.
